Nothing in the case aisle fits the iPhone Duo yet
Apple's first folding iPhone ships on 23 October. Two panels and a titanium hinge rule out every case cut for a flat phone — and even Apple's own cover protects one side of it.
Apple's first folding iPhone goes up for pre-order on 16 October and ships on 23 October. It is in the index now, ahead of both dates, because it raises the question this site exists for: a phone that folds does not take the accessories of a phone that does not, and the listings will be the last place to say so.
Two panels, one hinge
There are two displays — a 7.6-inch inner panel and a 5.4-inch outer one — on a Grade 5 titanium frame and hinge cover. A cover for it has to be cut for both, or be honest about covering one. Apple's own iPhone Duo Case is the instructive example rather than the exception: by Apple's description it covers the back exterior and the outer edge of the front exterior display. That is the outside of the phone. The inner panel is not in that sentence, and it will not be in most of the ones that follow it.

The second thing to check is what a magnetic accessory actually attaches to, and whether the phone still closes with it on. Gripping one panel of something designed to bend is not the same problem as gripping a slab. No product page answers that, and neither can we until there is a Duo on the bench to try it on.
What already works
The Duo charges over USB-C and supports MagSafe wireless charging, and Apple quotes up to 50 per cent in around twenty minutes from a 60W wired adapter. That puts the charging shelf of this index in play on day one: anything at 60W or better hits the fast-charge figure, and the USB-C cables and power banks already filed against every other modern phone are filed against this one too.

One caution on the magnetic side, and it is the sort this site is supposed to make. MagSafe charging is Apple's own claim and we have taken it. A magnetic car mount is our inference from that claim, which is a weaker thing — so the mounts are filed against the Duo as likely rather than verified, and they stay that way until somebody here has driven with one.
One more to watch: Apple says the Duo will work with Apple Pencil (USB-C), coming later this year. A stylus is a category this index has carried for e-readers and tablets and never once for a phone.
